Account Status: Active & Inactive

[PLATFORM GUIDE]

On the Yo! platform, your account has a lifecycle with two main temporary statuses (Active and Inactive) and a final one (Deactivated). Understanding how you move between them is key.

Active Status This is the default status for all tutors. When your account is Active, your profile is visible to yosers and you can receive new session bookings.

➡️ How an Account Becomes Inactive

An Inactive account is not publicly visible and cannot receive new bookings. You also won't be able to log in to the platform. Think of it as a way to "pause" your presence on the platform without ending our partnership. An account can become Inactive in two main ways:

  • By Automated Inactivity: To keep our marketplace fresh for yosers, our system will automatically move your account to Inactive status if it shows no session activity for 45 consecutive days. To stay Active, simply conduct at least one session within any 45-day period.

  • By Mutual Agreement: As a constructive alternative to contract termination, Yo! may offer to place your account in Inactive status with your consent (for example, during an Account Review). This gives you a "breather" to manage your schedule or resolve any issues without terminating our partnership.

➡️ Requesting Reactivation

Ready to come back from Inactive status? The first step is always to send an email to our Tutors Squad at [email protected]. This will trigger our standard review process.

➡️ The Reactivation Review Process

Once we receive your request, our team re-evaluates our partnership. The process varies slightly depending on how long you've been away:

  • If You've Been Inactive for Less Than 6 Months: Our team will conduct a standard review of your profile and our platform's current needs.

  • If You've Been Inactive for 6 Months or More: A lot can change in six months! To ensure you're set for success, we'll guide you through a quick "re-onboarding," which may include a brief "Convo" and accepting the latest versions of our agreements.

➡️ The Possible Outcomes of the Review

After our review is complete, there are three possible outcomes:

  • Outcome 1: Welcome Back! (Reactivation Approved) If your profile aligns with the platform's current needs, we'll be thrilled to move your account back to Active status. You'll receive a confirmation email and will be able to start opening slots right away.

  • Outcome 2: Not Right Now (Reactivation Denied due to Market Needs) Sometimes, we may have more than enough tutors to meet the current yoser demand. In this case, we may not be able to reactivate your account immediately. Your account will remain Inactive, and our partnership continues. You are welcome to request reactivation again in the future.

  • Outcome 3: Partnership Conclusion (Reactivation Denied & Contract Termination) If our review indicates that our partnership is no longer a good fit (based on performance history, Trust & Safety standards, or other factors), we will deny the reactivation request. In this scenario, the notification of denial will also serve as a formal 30-day notice of contract termination, providing a final and professional closure.

➡️ The End of the Line: Deactivation from Prolonged Inactivity

To keep our platform's administration healthy and our partner list current, we cannot maintain inactive accounts indefinitely.

If an account remains in Inactive status for a continuous period of twelve (12) months, it will be considered abandoned. The system will then permanently deactivate the account, and the Tutoring Services Agreement will be formally terminated. This is an automated administrative process and is considered final.
