Cleared cancellations

Sometimes, unfortunate situations happen, such as the tutor's hospitalization or the death of an immediate family member (parents, grandparents, siblings, children, and grandchildren by blood or adoption, or spouse or live-in partner). In such situations, the tutor should submit evidence (medical or death certificate) for the cancellation to be without penalty.

This rule applies to the following circumstances as well. Please note the proof we will require, respectively:

  • Internet provider issues (incident report, screenshot of an email or a link to the announcement on the provider’s website)

  • Power outages (incident report from the electric power company, screenshot of an email, or a link to the announcement. Announcements regarding planned power outages posted before the sessions were supposed to take place will not be accepted.)

  • Natural disasters (screenshot or a link to the news article).

In case of ‘no penalty’ disputes, we reserve the right to ask for additional proof to determine whether the canceled sessions qualify not to be penalized. If we determine that the evidence the tutor sent was false or photoshopped, standard cancellation penalties will apply, and a warning will be issued (please see this article).
