When you sign the contract, you become our tutor – an independent contractor. Tutors shall be solely responsible for all state and, in some cases, federal income taxes, unemployment insurance, and social security taxes and for maintaining adequate workers' compensation insurance coverage. Yo! Inglês shall under no circumstances be held liable for any taxes that might be imposed by the government of the country the tutor resides in.

Our contract is not exclusive, which means that a tutor may perform similar services for another company if they wish.

The contract can be terminated upon the tutor’s request at any time. Still, it might also be terminated by the company in the following cases or situations that the tutor has been involved in (including, but not limited to the following examples):

  1. Disturbing yosers in any way: contacting them on social media, being rude to them during sessions, asking for money from them, etc.

  2. Being disrespectful toward Yo! Inglês and its staff members

  3. Disclosing confidential data about yosers or the company to a third party, e.g., on social media, forums, etc.

  4. Persuading yosers to take your classes privately and therefore receiving payment directly from them

  5. Repetitive cancellations of sessions without a solid reason and proof /unreasonably high cancellation rate

  6. Conducting sessions on behalf of other tutors

  7. A high number of complaints from yosers

  8. Sharing any of the policies, rules, or contract clauses related to tutors and tutoring at Yo! Inglês with yosers, including the fee that you receive per session

The terms of the contract might change at some point, for example, if the company changes some of the policies covered by the contract. If this happens, Yo! Inglês will send the new version of the contract or an annex for a tutor to sign. In case we change a policy that is not mentioned in the contract and there is no need to send a new contract/annex, we will post an announcement on the Tutors’ dashboard.
