Sharing Personal Information: Keeping Things Safe on Yo!

[MANDATORY PLATFORM STANDARD]

Hey there! To keep everyone safe and our platform awesome, there are some personal details you must never share with yosers, even if they ask for them. This is super important to protect both you and the yoser, and to keep Yo! a secure place for learning.

➡️Here's the info that's off-limits:

  • Full address

  • Bank account number

  • Social media accounts

  • Email address

  • Phone number

  • Private photos

➡️Now, about sharing your full name: you can share it if you want, but it might lead to awkward situations, like yosers trying to find you on social media. So, we generally don't recommend it. If you do share your full name, please make sure to let them know right away that you're not allowed to chat outside of our Yo! sessions, including on social media.

If a yoser offers you their personal contact info, just give them a polite heads-up that "Hey, thanks, but it's against our policy to share contacts outside the platform, so I can't accept that." Gently discourage them from doing so, okay?

Important

Just so you know, breaking this rule is a serious material breach of your Tutoring Services Agreement, and we really don't tolerate it. For more details on what a material breach means, you can check out our Your Yo! Agreement: Our Independent Partnership policy.

Remember, all your sessions and everything that happens in them are recorded. So, let's just avoid any complications and keep all our awesome interactions right here on Yo! where they belong! 🙂
