[PLATFORM GUIDE]

To maintain a high-quality, safe, and professional marketplace, Yo! has a transparent process for enforcing its Mandatory Platform Standards. This is done through the issuance of Formal Notices.

➡️What Triggers a Formal Notice?

A Formal Notice is an official, documented record sent to a tutor's dashboard and email when a clear violation of a Mandatory Platform Standard has been verified. A notice can be triggered in two ways:

1. By Regular Performance Review

Some notices are issued following a regular review of performance metrics to ensure all partners meet the platform's reliability standards.

  • Violation of Reliability Standards: As detailed in our Performance Metrics: Your Overall Reliability policy, our team conducts a performance review at the end of each pay cycle. An account will receive a Formal Notice if its Overall Cancellation Rate or Unreported Cancellation Rate crosses the established thresholds for that period.

2. Following a Manual Investigation by the Yo! Team

Other notices are issued after our team conducts a careful, evidence-based review. An investigation can be triggered by various sources, such as a yoser report, a system alert (like the use of a safety tool), or an internal audit.

Regardless of the trigger, the goal of the investigation is to determine if a breach of any mandatory standard occurred. Depending on the evidence found, this may result in a Formal Notice for violations like:

  • Breach of Community Standards: Violations of our rules for professional conduct and environment.

  • Improper Use of Platform Tools: Using platform features in a way that goes against our stated policies.

  • Breach of Agreement Terms: Violations of the Tutoring Services Agreement or Tutor Agreement, such as breaches of confidentiality or non-solicitation clauses.

➡️Consequences of Repeated Notices

A single notice serves as a formal alert. However, a pattern of repeated notices indicates a consistent failure to adhere to the platform's essential standards.

  • We track notices over time in our official records. Receiving four (4) or more Formal Notices within a rolling 6-month period may result in the permanent deactivation of your account and termination of the Tutoring Services Agreement.

  • The 6-month period is "rolling," meaning a notice is marked as 'expired' in our records for the purposes of this calculation 6 months after it was issued.

As a professional courtesy and as a constructive alternative to termination, Yo! may, at its sole discretion, offer the tutor the option to enter into a mutually agreed "Inactive" status before proceeding with deactivation. This option is detailed in our Account Status: Active & Inactive policy and is handled via direct communication.

💡A Note on Material Breaches and Immediate Deactivation💡

It's important to understand that the Formal Notice system is the standard pathway Yo! uses to manage most performance and standards issues over time. We believe this process is fair and transparent.

However, this procedural pathway does not waive our contractual rights. As stated in your Tutoring Services Agreement, some actions constitute a material breach of our partnership. For critical issues — including but not limited to illegal activity, fraud, harassment, a major breach of confidentiality, or any other serious violation that compromises the safety and integrity of the Yo! community — we reserve the full right to bypass the notice system and proceed with immediate account deactivation and contract termination.

Our commitment to a fair process does not override our primary responsibility to protect our community. Safety always comes first.
