[PLATFORM GUIDE]

Your schedule on Yo! is super important – it's where you tell yosers when you're available for awesome conversations! Understanding how it all works, from slots to session statuses, is key to rocking your time on the platform. Let's dive in!
1. Your Schedule at a Glance: The 8-Day View
Think of your daily schedule as a big table with 48 time slots, each lasting 30 minutes. Together, they cover all 24 hours of the day, from midnight to 23:30.
Your schedule always shows you the current day and the next 7 days ahead, giving you a full week-long overview. This means you can edit your availability up to 7 days in advance, and yosers can book sessions with you for this same period.
2. Understanding Timezones on Your Schedule
To make things super clear, your schedule has two time columns:
Local Time (Your Local Time): This shows the time in your personal timezone, as set in your account preferences.
BRT/Yoser Real Time (Brazil Time): This column shows the exact time of the session in Brazil's timezone, which is the timezone of all our yosers!
Pro-Tip: Using the "BRT/Yoser Real Time" column can help you spot peak hours when yosers are most likely to be looking for sessions in Brazil. This is a smart way to open slots that have a higher chance of getting booked!
3. Opening & Closing Slots: Taking Control of Your Time
Since you're an independent professional on Yo!, you only open slots when you want to work. If you're unavailable or on vacation, simply don't open any slots – no need to "block" periods!
Here's how easy it is to manage your availability:
Step 1: Enter Edit Schedule Mode. Click the "Edit Schedule" button on your dashboard.
Step 2: Select Your Slots. Check the box next to the slot(s) you want to manage.
Heads-up! The system lets you manage slots with the same condition at once (e.g., select only empty slots to turn them into "Yep", or select "Yep" slots to close them).
Step 3: Open or Close.
To make a slot available for yosers to book, click the green "Open slot" button. You'll see a confirmation that you've opened slots.
To make an open slot unavailable, click the gray "Close Slot" button. You'll see a confirmation that you've closed slots.
Opening or closing slots happen automatically as you click the respective button for it. No need to save it.
Step 4: Exit Edit Mode. Click "Exit Editing" when you're done!
4. Session Statuses on Your Dashboard: What Do They Mean?
Your dashboard is your mission control, and it uses different statuses and colors to show you exactly what’s happening with your schedule. Here’s a quick guide to what you’ll see:
Empty: This means a slot is available but hasn't been edited by you yet.
Yep (Light Green): Hooray! This slot is open and available for a yoser to book.
Nope (Light Gray): Uh oh. This is a slot that passed its scheduled time without being booked by anyone.
Booked (Green): Awesome! You have a session scheduled and confirmed.
Happening (Yellow): You’re in action! This session is currently in progress.
Finished (Green): Success! The session was conducted successfully.
Reported (Red): This status pops up if you (the tutor) cancel a session before or during its time, or if you get disconnected from the Yo! Zone for 5 consecutive minutes. It also applies if you don't accumulate at least 20/40 minutes of connection time (for 25- and 50-minute sessions, respectively), or if you leave the Yo! Zone after 20/45 minutes and don't return before the official end of the session.
Unreported (Black): This is a critical one. It means you didn't cancel the session beforehand and didn't access the Yo! Zone within 2 minutes of the start time. It also happens if you end a session using the 'End Lesson' button unjustifiably.
Cleared Reported (Light Red): Good news! This is a Reported session that has been exempted from directly triggering booking cooldowns. However, it still counts towards your Overall Cancellation Rate.
Cleared Unreported (Light Black): Even better! This is an Unreported session that has been exempted from directly triggering booking cooldowns. However, it still counts towards your Overall Cancellation Rate and Unreported Cancellation Rate.
No-show (Black): This status means the yoser canceled less than 30 minutes before the session, or didn't access the Yo! Zone within 10 minutes, or remained disconnected for 10 consecutive minutes. In this case, you still get paid!
When a session is already booked (with status 'Booked', 'Happening', ‘Finished, etc.’), you can click on its status right on your schedule or on the “There's A Session Coming Up!” card in the sidebar. This takes you to the session page, where you can see all the details of the session, including the yoser's booking preferences. Super practical, right?

5. Tips for Mastering Your Schedule on Yo!
You can cancel booked sessions if needed, but remember, there are specific rules and consequences. For a step-by-step guide on how to cancel your sessions, please check our Manually Canceling Sessions: A Step-by-Step Guide policy. To understand all the implications for your reliability metrics and account, please refer to our Reliability System: Cooldowns & Grace Cancellations and Performance Metrics: Your Overall Reliability policies.
Plan Ahead with the 7-Day Window: Make the most of the 7-day booking window by opening slots consistently. This gives yosers more options to find a time that works for them with you!
Leverage Brazil Time: Use the "BRT/Yoser Real Time" column to identify and open slots during times when yosers are most active in Brazil – this can boost your booking rate!
Be Strategic with Last-Minute Slots: While you can open slots up to 15 minutes before, if you want a last-minute slot to be truly bookable, try to open it a bit earlier than the 15-minute mark so yosers have a chance to grab it.
Check Session Statuses Regularly: Keep an eye on your dashboard! Knowing if a slot is "Yep", "Booked", or "Nope" helps you manage your time.
Your Flexibility, Your Business: Always remember, you are in control. Open slots when it suits your schedule and availability. That's the beauty of being an independent professional on Yo!
Consistent Schedule, Happy Yosers: While it's totally up to you, many yosers appreciate tutors who have a consistent schedule. If you find a pattern that works for you, try to stick with it – this can help you build a regular group of yosers!
Daily Check-In for a Smooth Week: We recommend checking and updating your schedule at least once a day (or every few days) to make sure your availability is always accurate and up-to-date.
